Zarae fasciata -
a sawfly

The larvae of this uncommon sawfly feed on honeysuckle. Zarea fasciata has rarely been recorded in Shropshire, but may well occur in woodlands containing honeysuckle.  This adult sawfly was photographed in Eastridge Wood, Habberley in 2004 and 2005.
