Longhorn Beetle
Leptura quadrifasciata (Cerambycidae)

There are many species of longhorn beetle and several black and yellow coloured ones. Leptura quadrifasciata resembles the very common Strangalia maculata, but is more strikingly marked, with distinctly orangey-yellow markings that are well separated from one another.

This beetle was photographed at Attingham Park in July 2004. It has also been recorded from the Wyre Forest in Shropshire.
