Wool Carder Bee - Anthidium manicatum. A solitary bee
![]() |
This large, distinctive and
attractive solitary bee has not been recorded very often in Shropshire.
There are records for Shrewsbury, Harley, and Wollerton. It may well be
quite widespread in Shropshire, particularly in gardens where it will
probably be associated with flowers of Stachys, foxglove toadflax flowers
and similar flowers in the family labiatae.
