Amaurobius fenestralis - a spider

A search under the bark of trees, or fallen branches, or under stones will often yield this spider. It is one of our commonest spiders, but will not often be found without searching.

This one was found under the bark of a standing tree in the Wyre Forest, on the March 2005 SIG Field Trip.
