Anthophora furcata -
a solitary bee

Anthophora furcata is a solitary bee, rather bumblebee like in appearance. There are few records for this bee in Shropshire, but it is very likely overlooked, particularly in gardens where it may be widespread. The female has a slight reddish tinge at the end of it's abdomen - a useful identifying feature.
